Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Solar Cluster Manager to lead business expansion across Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth, managing channel partners, and overseeing regional business operations. You will act as the key owner of this cluster, ensuring market penetration in both the residential and commercial & industrial (C&I) solar sectors.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Business Development

  • Territory Expansion: Develop and execute a strategic roadmap to increase market share in key cities and industrial hubs across Maharashtra (e.g., Pune, Nagpur), Rajasthan (e.g., Jaipur, Jodhpur), and Madhya Pradesh (e.g., Indore, Bhopal).
  • Lead Generation: Oversee the end-to-end sales funnel, from lead generation to deal closure. Identify high-potential opportunities in EPC, open access, and rooftop solar projects.
  • Competitor Analysis: Monitor state-specific solar policies (e.g., PM Surya Ghar Yojana, state net-metering rules) and competitor activities to adjust pricing and sales pitches effectively.

2. Channel Partner & Vendor Management

  • Network Building: Identify, onboard, and train new channel partners, dealers, and EPC associates in the assigned states.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with existing partners to ensure repeat business and resolve operational bottlenecks.
  • Performance Monitoring: Set monthly targets for local sales teams and partners; conduct weekly reviews to ensure targets are met.

3. Liaison & Regulatory Coordination

  • Government Liaison: Liaison with state nodal agencies (like MSEDCL, RRECL, MPUVN) and DISCOM officials to facilitate approvals, net metering, and subsidy processing for clients.
  • Policy Expertise: Act as the subject matter expert on state-specific solar regulations, subsidies, and banking facilities for industrial clients.

4. Operational Leadership

  • Team Management: Recruit, mentor, and manage a distributed team of sales executives and field engineers across the three states.
  • Reporting: Prepare weekly/monthly reports on regional sales performance, pipeline status, and travel logs for senior management.
  • Required Qualifications & SkillsEducation: B.Tech/B.E. (Electrical/Mechanical) is preferred. An MBA in Marketing or International Business is a strong plus.
  • Experience: * 5-10 years of experience in Sales or Business Development within the Renewable Energy/Solar sector.
  • Proven track record of managing multi-state territories or clusters.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of PV technology, on-grid/off-grid systems, CAPEX/OPEX models, and financial ROI calculations.
  • Language Proficiency:
  • Fluent in Hindi and English (Mandatory).
  • Proficiency in Marathi is highly preferred for the Maharashtra region.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel extensively (15-20 days a month) via road/rail to visit client sites and partners in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.
  • Key CompetenciesRoad Warrior Mentality: Comfortable with frequent travel and managing a remote workflow.
  • Negotiation Skills: Ability to close high-value contracts with industrial owners and commercial clients.
  • Local Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the industrial geography of West and Central India.
