Job Description

You will design, developing, optimising, and supporting enterprise Business Intelligence (BI) reporting solutions using WebFOCUS, while also managing platform administration to ensure stability, performance, and governance. You will collaborate with partners, operations teams, and junior engineers to provide high-quality BI solutions aligned with organisational goals.

You will report to Software Engineering Manager.

Your Responsibilities:

WebFOCUS Development

• Design dashboards, analytical applications, and parameterized reports using Designer and InfoAssist.

• Build FOCEXEC procedures and integrate with HTML/JavaScript for customised reporting solutions.

• Create metadata using WebFOCUS synonyms and Master Files.

• Implement complex reporting logic, drill-downs, and scheduling workflows.

• Optimize queries and reporting performance across enterprise databases and external systems.

WebFOCUS Administration

• Install, configure, and upgrade WebFOCUS environments (Dev, QA, Prod).

• Manage Reporting Server, Client, and Distribution Server.

• Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and job scheduling.

• Configure authentication and security (LDAP/SSO) and manage access control.

• Troubleshoot platform issues and coordinate with infrastructure teams.

Platform Governance & Support

• Establish development standards, code review processes, and deployment practices.

• Manage migration of reports and applications across environments.

• Provide L2 support and root cause analysis for production issues.

• Mentor junior developers and BI engineers.

• Collaborate with operations teams and partners to ensure BI solutions meet organisational needs.

The Essentials - You Will Have

• Bachelors in computer science or related area .

• 10-14 years of total IT experience.

• 6+ years of hands-on WebFOCUS development experience.

• 4+ years of WebFOCUS platform administration experience.

• Strong expertise in FOCEXEC development, metadata management, and environment management.

• Experience in performance tuning, server configuration, and security setup (LDAP/SSO).

• Knowledge of Linux/Unix basics, shell scripting, and version control (Git).

• Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Python (good to have).

• Mentor junior engineers and work in a complex, global organization.

• Flexibility to work extended hours, after office hours, or holidays when required.
