Job Title: Software Validation Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Software Validation Engineer with a strong background in manual testing and exposure to embedded systems, protection relays, or industrial software. The role involves validating software functionality, ensuring high-quality deliverables, and working closely with development teams in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a strong understanding of GE protection relays / Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) and their functionality
- Analyze requirements and user stories to design detailed test cases and test scripts
- Execute functional, boundary, negative, regression, and UAT testing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and quality releases
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in manual software testing
- Exposure to GUI automation and Python scripting
- Basic knowledge of DLLs and programming languages such as C++ or C#
- Understanding of communication interfaces: Serial, USB, Ethernet
- Familiarity with protocols such as IEC 60870-5-103 (CS-103) and DNP3
- Experience testing applications on Windows 10 and Windows 11, including non-English OS versions
Good-to-Have Skills:
- Knowledge of IEC 61850 standard and configuration tools (e.g., IED Scout)
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts
- Experience with Excel macros
- Fundamental knowledge of electronics and electrical engineering
- Awareness of protection systems, substation automation, and SCADA systems
