About the Role
This role will be responsible for ensuring functional correctness, data accuracy, and release stability across web modules that handle real-time and historical market data. The QA Engineer will work closely with Engineering and Product teams to define acceptance criteria, catch issues early, and improve overall delivery predictability.
Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases for Strike web modules (Dashboard, Watchlist, Futures, Options, RRG, etc.).
- Perform functional, regression, API, and UI testing across multiple browsers and devices.
- Validate data accuracy and consistency across UI and backend APIs, especially for market data and analytics outputs.
- Collaborate closely with developers and product managers to understand new features, define acceptance criteria, and identify issues early in the SDLC.
- Create, maintain, and optimize test documentation, including test cases, bug reports, and release checklists.
- Participate in release validations and UAT cycles prior to production rollouts.
- Identify, track, and verify bug fixes using tools such as Jira or Linear.
- Work with automation tools/frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Postman for API testing) to improve test coverage.
- Contribute to improving QA processes, test data management, and CI/CD test integrations.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Defect Life Cycle.
- Hands-on experience in Web Application Testing, preferably SPAs built using React or Next.js.
- Good exposure to REST API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Familiarity with browser developer tools, network inspection, and response validation.
- Basic SQL knowledge for data verification against databases (preferably PostgreSQL or ClickHouse).
- Experience using test management and bug tracking tools such as Jira.
- Working knowledge of at least one test automation framework (Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, etc.).
Required Skills
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and documentation skills.
- Experience testing financial, trading, or analytics platforms.
- Familiarity with real-time data systems, WebSocket connections, or charting libraries (e.g., TradingView).
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integration testing using tools like GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
- Exposure to performance or API load testing tools such as JMeter or k6.
