Job Description

Job Title: Software Test Engineer

Location: Bangalore

Experience: 3 to 5 Years

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in sprint planning meetings and contribute to test strategy discussions
  • Prepare detailed test plans for assigned sprint items
  • Design effective test cases using standard test design techniques
  • Execute manual and automated test cases as per sprint timelines
  • Automate newly implemented features using Robot Framework and Python
  • Maintain and enhance the automation framework/codebase
  • Perform defect reporting, tracking, and retesting
  • Analyze logs and collaborate with developers for issue resolution
  • Generate clear and comprehensive test documentation

Required Skills

  • Hands-on experience in Manual & Automated Testing of desktop/web applications interfacing with hardware systems
  • Strong experience in Robot Framework and Python scripting
  • Familiarity with PLC logic and industrial communication protocols such as Modbus and OPC-UA
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and QA best practices
  • Experience in System-Level Testing
  • Hands-on experience with Jira or Azure DevOps
  • Database knowledge with SQL query execution using tools like SQL Developer
  • Strong debugging and log analysis skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • ISTQB Foundation Level Certification
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Exposure to industrial automation or embedded systems testing

Soft Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
  • Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
