Role Description

These are remote internship roles for Software Test Engineer Interns. At ENIGMA GENOMICS, you will be critical in ensuring the reliability of our genomic analysis platform. Your day-to-day tasks will involve maintaining high-quality assurance standards to ensure our software meets the highest benchmarks before reaching researchers and clinicians.

What You'll Do:

Role 1: Manual & QA Focus

  • Perform functional, regression, and usability testing on web and mobile applications.
  • Document clear, concise, and actionable bug reports using tracking tools.
  • Develop detailed test cases and test plans based on project requirements.
  • Collaborate with the development team to reproduce issues and verify fixes.

Role 2: Automation & SDET Focus

  • Design and write automated test scripts for web and mobile platforms (React Native/Web).
  • Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to ensure continuous quality.
  • Identify opportunities for automation within existing manual testing workflows.
  • Analyze automated test results and troubleshoot script failures.

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field and graduating in 2026 or 2027.
  • For Manual: Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and a break-it mentality.
  • For Automation: Foundational knowledge of programming (JavaScript, Python, or Go).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Eager to learn and experiment in a fast-paced biotech environment.
  • Focussed commitment of 20 hours per week.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with Jira or similar bug-tracking tools.
  • Basic experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Knowledge of API testing (Postman) or automation frameworks (Cypress, Appium).
