Software Test Engineer

Responsible for driving test strategy and quality standards across multiple products and teams, ensuring functional, technical, and regulatory compliance throughout the product development lifecycle. Works across a diverse range of products from handheld tablet devices to gaming cabinets. Serves as the primary quality stakeholder in cross-functional collaboration, project escalations, and release readiness reviews. Also responsible for having proficient understanding of the software test methodologies and procedures in order to ensure testing efficiency and high level of quality. Leads, mentors, and coaches Test Engineers and Associate SQA Engineers to uphold engineering excellence. Also owns test strategy and release-readiness decisions for live, post-release updates to already-deployed products (LiveOps), and ensures test coverage across multiple platforms, including mobile (Windows, Android, iOS).

Essential Job Functions:

• Drive overall test strategy, quality standards, and best practices across multiple backend services and product areas
• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, maintainable automated test frameworks for backend and web services
• Ensure comprehensive test coverage across functional, regression, integration, contract, and exploratory testing
• Develop, own, and govern automated test scripts using industry-standard UI/API testing frameworks (e.g. WinAppDriver, FlaUI, REST API/Postman)
• Own and govern regression suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliability and fast feedback cycles
• Perform and oversee database validation using SQL Server to verify transactional integrity, audit logs, and records.
• Lead stress, soak, and chaos testing strategies to validate system resilience under real-world and peak traffic conditions
• Review and approve test plans, test cases, and automation code contributed by junior and mid-level engineers
• Submit, track, and reproduce critical product issues, driving timely resolution across development teams
• Provide input to weekly project status reports and deliver detailed completion reports at the end of each project
• Follow SQA Work Instructions daily and utilize all required databases for SQA functions
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and act as a quality advocate within cross-functional teams
• Proficient understanding of software test methodologies/procedures and the overall product development lifecycle
• Manage and drive resolution of project escalations, communicating risk and impact to stakeholders in a timely manner
• Own test strategy and go/no-go readiness decisions for LiveOps releases, including governance of staged/phased rollout plans for live configuration, content, and feature updates
• Lead live-incident response for production issues, coordinating triage, root-cause analysis, and rollback validation across development, DevOps, and cross-functional teams
• Review and approve test coverage for time-boxed live content (events, promotions, remote-configuration changes) across time zones prior to release
• Ensure test coverage across multiple platforms and device types, including Windows, Android, and iOS, is planned and executed by the team

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Involved in special projects for the SQA Department
• Introduce process improvement initiatives
• Establish key contacts with upstream organizations that have a direct impact on SQA
• Mentor new Associate SQA and SQA Engineers on assigned projects.

Qualifications & Work Experience:

· Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science is preferred

· 6–9 years of relevant SQA work experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity

· Strong knowledge of Visual Studio, GITHUB, SQL server Database.

• Work experience with OOP, Python or Pearl.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

· Knowledge of the gaming industry preferred

· Familiarity with multiple API communication protocols (REST, GraphQL, gRPC)

· Experience owning test strategy for live-service or continuously updated products (LiveOps) required.

· Experience testing or overseeing testing across multiple platforms (Windows, Android, iOS).
