Software Technologist - DevOps

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team and drive automation, scalability, and reliability across our development and deployment processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and container orchestration, with a passion for building robust and secure systems.

Key Responsibilities

Pipeline Development:

  • Design, implement, and maintain GitHub Actions pipelines for build, test, security scanning, packaging, and deployment across multiple environments.

  • Standardize reusable workflow templates and composite actions enforce branch protection, required checks, and release/versioning strategies.

Deployment & GitOps:

  • Implement and manage GitOps workflows using Argo CD for Kubernetes deployments (Helm).

  • Establish environment promotion via pull requests and rollback strategies.

Security & Compliance:

  • Integrate GHAS (Code Scanning, Secret Scanning, Dependabot), Black Duck (SCA), and other security tools into pipelines.

Infrastructure Management:

  • Build and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform and Crossplane.

  • Ensure best practices for AWS services such as VPC, EKS, ALB/NLB, RDS/Aurora, S3, ECR, Route 53, Secrets Manager/SSM.

Containerization & Orchestration:

  • Maintain strong understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and virtualized systems.

Collaboration & Documentation:

  • Work closely with developers, QA, and security teams to ensure smooth delivery.

  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Create and maintain up-to-date documentation for design and implementation.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Diagnose issues quickly and provide practical solutions.

  • Stay current with evolving tools, practices, and cloud technologies.

  • Drive code craftsmanship and continuous improvement initiatives within the team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology OR equivalent vocational education.

  • Proven experience in DevOps (5-10 years).

  • Expertise in GitHub Actions, GitOps, Argo CD, Helm, Terraform, AWS services, Docker, and Kubernetes.

  • Familiarity with security tools like GHAS and Black Duck.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
