This role sits within Hospital Patient Monitoring (HPM), which provides advanced monitoring solutions for acute care settings. From bedside and transport monitors to centralized systems, HPM helps clinicians identify at-risk patients and intervene quickly. The position is based in Bangalore, a key hub supporting innovation and collaboration across Philips.
We are seeking Software Technologist to join our high-performing team and contribute to key projects in the Hospital Patient Monitoring domain. The ideal candidate will have expertise in C++ on Embedded Linux platform and software quality assurance. You will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and delivering scalable solutions while mentoring junior developers and driving innovation.
You are responsible for
Analyze and understand software/functional requirements to design and develop high-quality software.
Write efficient, maintainable code following best practices and conduct code reviews.
Implement developer-level testing (unit, component) to ensure software reliability.
Writing unit tests using Google Test (GTest) with Gherkin syntax following behavior-driven development (BDD) principles.
Create technical documentation and comply with development policies.
Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software issues efficiently.
Stay updated with technical advancements and advocate best practices within the team.
Supporting project estimation, planning and risk management activities
Keeping abreast of technical developments in own field through study, technical contacts and propagate it
Experience of leading a small team is a plus
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science or Electronics with 5-8 years of experience with good Knowledge of C++ (20 and above) and Python in Linux platforms.
Experience working with Embedded projects.
Good knowledge of serial communication and communication protocols (e.g RS232, RS422, USB, SPI etc) Basic knowledge of HW (e.g.microcontroller, A/D converter, i/o controls)
Basic knowledge in the field of digital signal processing (optional)
Basic knowledge of medical technology and human physiology
Experience working with CI/CD pipelines
Experience in working with docker containers Proficient in Github Experience in gtest/catch2/pytest Working experience in Agile/SAFe development methodologies
Work experience on systems used in healthcare is a plus.
Basic knowledge of MBSE tools like Cameo is a plus
