Job Title
Senior Software Technologist - AI Cloud companion
Job Description
In this role, you will have the opportunity to join the leading innovator in image-guided therapy solutions as Senior Software Technologist for the AzurionEye solution - an integrated, AI-enabled software platform. In this tole you will operationalize an AI-enabled platform in hospital data centers and public AWS. This is a hands-on role for an engineer with a strong platform engineering mindset who can build secure, reliable, and repeatable capabilities across cloud and on-premises environments.
The role combines Kubernetes platform engineering, infrastructure automation, product onboarding, and event-driven integration. You will work closely with engineering, operations, and security to ensure that both the platform and the products running on it are production-ready, supportable, and appropriate for highly regulated healthcare environments. This means designing with traceability, controlled change, tenant isolation, and security in mind from the start. You will work with Git-based and GitOps-oriented delivery practices, contribute to Kubernetes Operators in Go where needed for deployment and integration, and support event-driven solutions built on NATS. In cloud environments, understanding multi-tenancy is important in hospital data centers, efficient operations and ChatOps-style collaboration are equally important. A key technical challenge in this role is enabling GPU-based workloads in virtualized on-premises environments while preserving unprivileged access, isolation, and operational stability. Over time, the platform is expected to evolve toward closer alignment with a broader AI Workbench product, including data and analytics-oriented services.
You will be part of the Image Guided Therapy Systems business unit with development sites in the Netherlands, China and India. This business unit is responsible for marketing, service, development and manufacturing of solutions and products used in minimally invasive procedures. You will join the global R&D department.
Key areas of responsibility
- Deploy and configure platform components on Kubernetes in hospital-hosted and AWS environments.
- Integrate products onto the platform using consistent deployment, operational, and security practices.
- Contribute to or adapt Kubernetes Operators in Go for lifecycle management, upgrades, recovery, and integration needs, in collaboration with owning teams.
- Design and troubleshoot event-driven integrations using NATS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies, with attention to resilience, idempotency, retries, failure recovery, and observability.
- Manage infrastructure and configuration through Git-based workflows and GitOps-style delivery practices.
- Implement secure-by-default configurations, including access control, secrets handling, TLS, network restrictions, and auditability.
- Support cloud designs that account for multi-tenancy, isolation boundaries, and shared platform services.
- Improve operational efficiency in on-premises environments through automation and ChatOps-style collaboration.
- Help integrate GPU-enabled workloads in virtualized environments with a focus on unprivileged access and secure isolation.
- Produce clear deployment guides, runbooks, and handover documentation.
- Support rollout, stabilization, and early-life production operations.
- Contribute to the longer-term evolution toward broader AI and data platform capabilities.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
- BE, BTech or MTech in Computer Science/Engineering, Information technology or equivalent
- 08-12years in software development/engineering including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
- Proficiency in leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate design, coding, testing, and documentation with high-quality outcomes.
- Thrives in an agile, entrepreneurial, startup-like environment with strong ownership, learning mindset and the drive to rapidly iterate, validate and deliver customer centric solutions.
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in platform, infrastructure, or software engineering.
- Strong Kubernetes experience across on-premises and/or managed cloud environments such as EKS.
- Hands-on experience in Go.
- Experience contributing to, adapting, or integrating with Kubernetes Operators in Go.
- Practical experience with event-driven architecture and messaging platforms such as NATS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar.
- Experience integrating application or product workloads onto a shared platform.
- Experience with Git-based workflows and GitOps-style operating practices.
- Good understanding of cloud multi-tenancy and its operational implications.
- Strong Linux, networking, and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Practical AWS experience, including IAM, VPC, EKS, CloudWatch, and KMS.
- Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Python, Bash, Terraform, or Ansible.
- Good understanding of virtualization and workload isolation, ideally including GPU enablement in constrained or unprivileged runtime models.
- A strong security mindset and awareness of the impact of engineering decisions in regulated healthcare environments.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineering, operations, security, and hospital IT stakeholders.
- Experience in healthcare IT or another highly regulated domain.
- Experience across both on-premises and public cloud environments.
- Familiarity with GitOps tooling such as Argo CD, Flux, or similar.
- Experience collaborating with operator-owning teams on integration and lifecycle requirements.
- Experience with GPU-enabled workloads in Kubernetes or virtualized environments.
- Experience with ChatOps practices for support or incident response.
- Experience with observability, reliability engineering, and production support.
- Familiarity with workload hardening, policy enforcement, and secure software supply chain practices.
- Exposure to AI platform, data platform, or data warehouse environments.
How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company's facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company's main facilities, generally at the customers or suppliers locations.
Indicate if this role is an office/field/onsite role.
