Linux, collaborating with L1/L3 teams, developers, vendors, and network operations to ensure resilient, SLA-compliant services
What will your job look like
- Key Responsibilities
- Application Operations
- Provide L2 application support for SON and related telecom OSS/BSS systems.
- Own incident triage, troubleshooting, RCA, and corrective actions; escalate to L3/vendors as needed.
- Perform proactive performance monitoring and tuning across SON modules and interfaces.
- Automation & Scripting
- Develop Python scripts for health checks, log parsing, job orchestration, and operational reports.
- Automate routine tasks and create runbooks to reduce MTTR and operational toil.
- Linux Administration
- Administer Linux-based application environments (services, packages, storage, networking, security).
- Coordinate patching, configuration changes, and deployment activities with change control.
- Release & Environment Management
- Support deployments, smoke testing, and post-release validation across non-prod and prod.
- Maintain configuration baselines, track dependencies and integration points with network elements.
- SLA & Governance
- Use ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) for incident, change, and problem management; ensure precise documentation and SLA adherence.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with RAN engineering, NOC, and vendors to ensure service reliability.
All you need is...
- Mandatory Requirements
- Proficient in Python programming (automation, tooling, data handling).
- Proven Linux administration experience (troubleshooting, performance, security).
- Exposure to telecom projects with a solid understanding of RAN architecture (cells, sectors, handovers, KPIs, interfaces).
Required Skills & Experience
- 46+ years in application support or telecom operations (preferably L2).
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills; confident working in SLA-driven environments.
- Familiarity with logs/metrics tracing, dashboards, and alerting; experience reducing MTTR.
- Experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow) and disciplined change management.
- Ability to work in a 247 support model with rotational on-call and vendor coordination.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice To Have)
- Hands-on SON module experience (optimization, parameter management, performance KPIs).
- Knowledge of OSS/BSS interfaces, northbound/southbound integrations, and APIs.
- Exposure to cloud-native app deployments (OpenShift/Kubernetes) and container basics.
- Basic database skills (SQL/NoSQL, Snowflake) for querying application telemetry.
- Telecom vendor ecosystem familiarity and scripting for data pipelines or reporting.
