Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on QA Automation Leader who can define and scale the automation strategy for our industrial edge computing platform.
You will:
- Architect next-generation test automation frameworks
- Lead and mentor QA engineers
- Integrate automation deeply into CI/CD pipelines
- Ensure system reliability across edge devices, microservices, and cloud integrations
- Drive innovation using AI-powered testing strategies
This role requires someone who combines technical depth, systems thinking, and leadership maturity.
What You Will Own
1 Automation Architecture & Strategy
- Design and evolve automation frameworks using:
- Playwright and/or Cypress
- Cucumber (BDD)
- Architect API automation for:
- REST
- GraphQL
- WebSocket
- Implement contract testing for microservices
- Enable SSH/CLI-based validation for Linux edge devices
- Ensure multi-tenant and OEM-branded platform validation
2 Edge & Industrial Systems Quality
- Validate industrial protocols such as:
- OPC UA
- MQTT
- Modbus
- EtherNet/IP
- Test SCADA/DCS/PLC integrations
- Validate high-frequency data ingestion pipelines
- Ensure resilience across:
- Offline modes
- Upgrade persistence
- License activation systems
- Disaster recovery scenarios
3 DevOps & CI/CD Integration
- Own and optimize automated test execution in:
- GitLab CI / Jenkins / GitHub Actions
- Enable container-based test execution using:
- Docker / Podman
- Kubernetes (k8s)
- Implement parallel test orchestration
- Integrate reporting via Jira, Slack, Allure, etc.
- Drive automated failure analysis and intelligent reruns
4 AI-Driven Testing Innovation
- Implement AI-based test selection and prioritization
- Explore ML-based anomaly detection in edge systems
- Leverage AI for:
- Visual regression
- Log intelligence
- Performance prediction
- Drive intelligent test orchestration with tag-based filtering
5 Leadership & Organizational Impact
- Lead and scale QA teams
- Mentor engineers in automation-first culture
- Define QA KPIs and quality metrics
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and DevOps
- Build a culture of ownership and engineering excellence
What We're Looking For
Mandatory
- 8+ years in QA / Automation
- 5+ years in senior or lead capacity
- Deep hands-on experience in:
- Playwright and/or Cypress
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- Cucumber (BDD)
- Strong Linux fundamentals
- API automation expertise (REST + GraphQL)
- CI/CD integration experience
- Containerization knowledge (Docker required; Kubernetes preferred)
Strongly Preferred
- Experience in:
- Industrial IoT
- Edge computing
- Embedded systems
- Manufacturing platforms
- Contract testing (PACT or similar)
- Performance and soak testing (k6, JMeter)
- Microservices architecture validation
- Multi-tenant SaaS testing
- AI-driven testing initiatives
