Software Quality Assurance Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Software QA Engineer with 2–4 years of experience, who has strong expertise in manual testing along with a basic understanding of automation tools and practices.

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth manual testing of web and mobile applications while contributing to test automation wherever applicable. You'll work closely with cross functional teams to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive manual testing of web, mobile, and API-based applications.
• Create, review, and maintain detailed test cases, test plans, and bug reports.
• Ensure complete testing coverage through functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and designers to understand business requirements and technical implementations.
• Communicate effectively with clients to gather requirements, clarify expectations, and provide testing updates or reports.
• Identify repetitive test scenarios suitable for automation and support automation initiatives wherever applicable.
• Log, track, and manage defects using tools like JIRA and participate actively in Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Ensure product releases are stable, reliable, and meet end-user expectations across multiple platforms and environments.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in Manual Testing of web and/or mobile applications.
• Strong understanding of Software Testing concepts, SDLC/STLC, and defect lifecycle.
• Experience in functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
• Good understanding of API testing using tools like Postman or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working experience in Agile teams.
• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar tools.
• Basic understanding of Git version control and CI/CD processes.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including client-facing interactions.

Good to Have

• Exposure to automation testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Basic scripting/programming knowledge in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Understanding of automation frameworks and test script maintenance.
• ISTQB Certification (Foundation Level or above).
