Software Quality Assurance Engineer

Link is growing fast and we are hiring an SQA Tester to own quality across our web, mobile, and backend systems. This is a hands-on IC role — you will design the test strategy for the features you cover, build and maintain automation, run the manual passes that automation can't catch, and be the person engineers and PMs trust to say this is ready to ship — or it isn't.

You will partner closely with backend, frontend, mobile, and product to catch issues before they reach production, and own the bug lifecycle end to end. We expect testers to push back on fuzzy specs, find the edge cases nobody thought of, and improve our test infrastructure as the product grows. QA at Link is an enabler, not a gate.

Test design and execution

• Design, write, and maintain manual and automated test cases across web, mobile (iOS and Android), and backend APIs
• Own functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing for the features you cover
• Build and extend the automation suite — UI, API, and load — and keep it green in CI
• Define test data strategy and environment setup needed to run reliably across staging and pre-prod

API, load, and mobile testing

• Build and maintain API test collections in Postman, including auth flows, chained requests, and contract checks
• Run load and performance testing with Artillery — define scenarios, baselines, and pass/fail thresholds
• Run cross-device mobile testing on AWS Device Farm — test matrix design, parallelization, flake reduction

Bug lifecycle and partnership

• Own the bug lifecycle: clear repros, severity calls, follow-through to verification on fix
• Partner with developers in PR review and PMs / designers in spec review — catch problems before they're committed
• Drive root-cause discussion on production-escaped bugs and feed lessons back into test coverage

Tooling and process

• Integrate automated tests into the CI pipeline (GitHub Actions) so failing builds are caught before staging
• Maintain test reporting and dashboards so engineering leadership has clear visibility into quality trends
• Improve test tooling, frameworks, and processes as the product and team scale

3–5 years of experience in software QA with hands-on work in both manual and automation — not just one.

Testing fundamentals

• Strong test design — equivalence partitioning, boundary analysis, risk-based test prioritization
• Solid grasp of HTTP, REST, JSON, status codes, and basic SQL for data validation
• Comfort writing clear, reproducible bug reports that engineers don't have to chase

API and performance testing

• Postman in production — environments, collections, scripted assertions, Newman in CI
• Artillery (or equivalent like k6, JMeter, Gatling) — scenario design, baselines, performance regression detection

Automation

• Hands-on automation experience with [Playwright / Cypress / Selenium / Appium] in [JavaScript/TypeScript / Python / Java]
• Test framework design — page objects or equivalent, fixtures, retries, parallelization, flake control
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar)

Mobile testing

• Hands-on experience with AWS Device Farm or comparable cloud device labs (Sauce Labs, BrowserStack)
• Familiar with native iOS and Android testing concerns — permissions, deep links, push, offline behavior, app lifecycle

Engineering hygiene

• Comfortable in Linux shell — basic networking, log inspection, debugging
• Git fluency and PR-based workflows
• Security-aware — understands the basics of IAM, secrets handling, OWASP Top 10 at a high level

• ISTQB Foundation / Advanced or equivalent certification
• Experience with contract testing (Pact) or schema testing
• Performance testing depth — distributed load, soak tests, capacity modeling
• BDD frameworks (Cucumber / Gherkin) and stakeholder-readable test specifications
• Security testing basics — Burp Suite, ZAP, SAST/DAST tooling
• Experience testing event-driven or async backend systems (queues, webhooks, retries)
• Exposure to observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus) for using metrics during testing

• Clear written and verbal communication — bug reports, test plans, and status updates that don't need follow-up questions
• Structured thinking — you can break a vague feature into a coverage matrix and defend the cuts you make
• Ownership mindset — closes loops on bugs, drives verification through to release
• Comfortable pushing back on engineering, product, and design when quality is at risk
• Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change in a scaling environment

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field — or equivalent practical experience.

• Test plan and coverage map established for tier 1 user flows across web and mobile
• Owning the bug triage cadence and the regression pass for each release
• First batch of automated tests in the CI pipeline and running green

• Regression cycle time measurably reduced through automation coverage
• Mobile test matrix on AWS Device Farm running on a defined cadence with clear pass/fail criteria
• Load testing baseline established for tier 1 services with documented pass thresholds
• Production-escaped bug rate trending down with clear root-cause feedback into test design
