Software Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Junior Software Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our team. As a Junior QA Engineer, you will work alongside senior engineers and other stakeholders to ensure the software products we develop meet the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for testing, identifying defects, and ensuring software products function as expected across different environments.

Responsibilities:

1. Test Planning and Execution:

• Participate in the design and execution of manual and automated tests.
• Create, maintain, and execute test cases based on functional requirements.
• Perform regression, functional, integration, and system testing to ensure software functionality and quality.

2. Defect Reporting and Tracking:

• Identify, report, and document defects and issues in a detailed and clear manner.
• Track defect status and work with the development team to resolve issues efficiently.

3. Collaboration:

• Work closely with developers, product managers, and other team members to understand application functionality and design test scenarios.
• Participate in daily standups and sprint planning meetings.

4. Documentation:

• Maintain detailed records of test cases, results, and defects.
• Contribute to test-related documentation and knowledge-sharing practices within the team.

5. Continuous Improvement:

• Suggest process improvements for enhancing the QA process and product quality.

6. Test Automation (Nice to have):

• Assist in the development and maintenance of automated test scripts.
• Utilize test automation frameworks and tools to improve testing efficiency and coverage.

Qualifications:

1) Educational Background:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

2) Technical Skills:

• 2 to 4 years of experience in software quality assurance.
• Basic knowledge of software development and testing methodologies.
• Understanding of software lifecycle and Agile/Scrum development processes.
• Familiarity with programming/scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript) is a plus.
• Exposure to test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Robot Framework) is desirable but not required.

3) Soft Skills:

• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
• A proactive attitude toward problem-solving and learning.

4) Preferred Experience:

• Internships or previous experience in QA or software testing.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• Experience with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
• Knowledge of databases and SQL for basic data validation and queries.
• Experience of customer relationship management, ERP is a plus
• Experience of working in manufacturing industry is a plus
