The Software Engineering Specialist (GenAI, Cloud Platforms) is an advanced individual contributor responsible for designing, developing, and scaling enterprise‑grade Generative AI solutions. This role focuses on Large Language Models, agentic AI systems, and cloud‑native architectures, contributing to complex software systems used by global customers. The specialist works independently on complex problem statements, provides technical guidance within the team, and influences platform‑level design decisions in alignment with Amdocs engineering standards .
What will your job look like
Engineering & Solution Development
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise‑scale GenAI applications, including LLM‑powered services and intelligent agents.
- Implement RAG (Retrieval‑Augmented Generation) architectures integrating structured and unstructured enterprise data sources.
- Build and optimize agentic AI workflows, including orchestration, tool usage, memory, and planning patterns.
- Develop and integrate MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers and supporting services for scalable AI interactions.
- Ensure solutions are cloud‑native, secure, scalable, and production‑ready, aligned with Amdocs engineering and SDLC practices .
Technical Ownership & Quality
- Assume technical ownership of assigned modules and services, from design through deployment and support.
- Perform code reviews, ensure high software quality, and contribute to meeting SLAs, KPIs, and reliability targets.
- Drive automation, observability, and performance optimization across GenAI services.
Architecture & Collaboration
- Contribute to enterprise GenAI architecture, including model selection, deployment patterns, and governance considerations.
- Collaborate with product, platform, and cloud teams to align AI capabilities with business and customer needs.
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing within the engineering team, supporting onboarding and upskilling .
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Actively research and evaluate emerging GenAI technologies, tools, and frameworks.
- Drive continuous improvement in LLMOps, prompt engineering standards, and AI development best practices.
All you need is...
Experience & Background
- 6–9 years of experience in software engineering, with hands‑on responsibility for complex, production systems.
- Strong experience building and operating cloud‑based platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Proven experience delivering enterprise‑grade AI or data‑intensive systems.
Technical Skills
- Large Language Models: Hands‑on experience with GPT‑, Claude‑, or similar class models.
- Agentic AI systems: Design and implementation of multi‑step, tool‑using AI agents.
- RAG architectures: Vector databases, embeddings, retrieval pipelines, and grounding strategies.
- Prompt engineering: Designing, testing, and optimizing prompts for reliability and performance.
- LLMOps: Model lifecycle management, monitoring, evaluation, versioning, and CI/CD for AI systems.
- Enterprise GenAI architecture: Security, governance, scalability, and integration patterns.
- Strong programming skills in one or more languages commonly used in AI platforms (e.g., Python, Java, or similar).
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience .
Nice to Have
- Experience with multi‑tenant SaaS platforms or large‑scale telecom/enterprise systems.
- Exposure to responsible AI practices, model governance, and data privacy considerations.
- Experience contributing to internal platforms, frameworks, or developer enablement tools.
