As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a dedicated product team of 5 to 15 + software engineers to build, scale, and maintain high-impact technical solutions. In this leadership role, you will transition away from critical path individual contributor tasks to focus on maximizing your team's velocity, owning, and guiding product high level architecture and low-level design, and ensuring operational excellence. You will function as the critical bridge between product vision and engineering execution, navigating ambiguity to deliver robust software while fostering a culture of continuous learning, technical health, and high performance
What you'll do...
Lead and Develop Talent: Manage an organization of 5 to 15 individual contributors. Responsible for the full talent lifecycle, including recruiting, performance management, compensation planning, and active mentoring to accelerate career growth
Drive Firsthand Innovation: Lead the creation of Proof of Concepts (POCs) and prototypes to de-risk modern technologies or architectural shifts. You will personally engage in leading from the front to validate technical bets before full-scale execution
Resolve Complex Design Challenges: Provide technical leadership during high-stakes design situations or systemic failures. You will dive deep into the stack when necessary to help the team navigate complex debugging, performance bottlenecks, or architectural deadlocks
Drive Execution & Velocity: Translate ambiguous product requirements into clear, actionable engineering execution plans. Champion Agile methodologies to optimize team velocity, delivery predictability, and overall development flow
Guide Architecture & Strategy: Define the technical architecture for your specific product. You will ensure long-term scalability by contributing to foundational code patterns and validating designs through firsthand involvement
Own Operational Excellence: Take ultimate accountability for your team's deliverables, system SLAs, and overall operational health. Ensure the reliability and security of the services your team owns
Manage Technical Health: Actively manage technical debt and set high engineering standards. Lead critical PR reviews and maintain a strategic view of the codebase, ensuring the team balances rapid delivery with long-term maintainability
You will have...
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
Experience: 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong foundation in designing, building, and maintaining complex, scalable systems
Technical Depth: Demonstrated experience min 3+ years in system architecture and technical design, with the ability to remain hands-on when challenging technical situations arise
Cloud Expertise: Proven experience min 2+ years with modern cloud architectures (e.g., GCP, AWS, or Azure), distributed systems, and microservices
Process Leadership: Experience minimum 3+ years driving Agile software development processes and managing the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Communication: Strong ability to translate highly technical concepts into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders and business leadership
