Staff Engineer (Test Engineer)
Job Description:
- Senior level position as Individual contributor role
- Develop, Execute, automate detailed very complex feature test plans in the areas of BRAS protocols like PPPoE, DHCP, L2TP, ANCP, L2/L3 protocols like BGP, OSPF, ISIS, VPLS, QoS, Policy, PPP, VPLS, based on thorough understanding of feature and requirements.
- Review Market Requirements Document, Product Description Document and Functional Specification for his as well as another team member s complex RLIs
- Work with Technical Publications team in reviewing documentation of features
- Support Beta teams during Beta adoption of features as well as supporting the beta issues.
- Work with Product Manager in identifying feature deployment scenarios for a new release for different customers and expand that knowledge to other sys-test Engineers.
- Very critical and complex customer queries/escalations handling.
- Contribute to knowledge dissemination sessions
- Writing white papers on different technology areas, systest handling, sys-test improvement plans.
- Filing patents as and when applicable.
- Mentoring the other SysTest team in different areas of technology
- Giving technical presentation to the whole sys-test alias on new complex features.
- Providing inputs for sys-test improvement plans.
- Helping in reducing the customer found defects (CFD)
Job Requirements:
- BE/ME/MCA in CS/ECE or similar field
- 10 to 14 yrs of complex product test and BRAS/L2/L3 protocols testing
- Exceptional understanding of OSI Model, TCP/IP protocol suite (ARP, IP, ICMP, IGMP, TCP, UDP, SNMP, FTP) and other networking fundamentals.
- Exceptional hands-on configuration expertise of PPP, PPPoE, DHCP, HTTP, Radius, AAA, L2TP, IGMP, GRE, 802.3AD
- Exceptional hands-on configuration expertise in few protocols like ISIS , OSPF, BGP, QoS, Multicast, MPLS, VPLS
- Very Strong automation skills and experience with scripting languages like Perl/Python/Robot framework
- Very Strong in any of the test tools like IXIA, Spirent
- Very Strong analytical skills to debug and isolate problems
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving skills
- Proactive, approachable and must be able to handle multiple tasks
- Earlier experience of writing white papers, participating in different technology forums etc.
- Earlier experience of filing IDFs/patents will be an advantage.
- Demonstrate complete ownership and leadership in complex features and technology areas.
