Job Description

Role Context

As a Software Engineer (SDE I) – Backend (C++), you will begin your career by building real production backend systems as part of the FLX ONE Cargo (F1C) engineering team.

This role focuses on developing strong fundamentals in C++ programming, system-level thinking, and backend development through hands-on coding.

You will work closely with Senior Engineers and Tech Leads, contributing to backend services while learning best practices in performance, reliability, and production engineering.

Hands-On Development

Implement backend services and components using C++.

Contribute to system-level functionality under guidance from senior engineers.

Write clean, maintainable, and production-ready code following established patterns.

Feature Contribution

Deliver well-scoped features or components from implementation through testing.

Fix bugs and improve existing functionality with attention to quality and correctness.

Apply modular design principles to keep code clean and maintainable.

Quality & Engineering Discipline

Write unit tests and participate in code reviews to improve code quality.

Learn and follow engineering best practices around version control, testing, and deployment.

Develop an understanding of how your code behaves in production environments.

Learning & Growth

Learn system design, cloud fundamentals, and operational practices through hands-on work.

Pair with senior engineers to accelerate learning and problem-solving skills.

What You Must Bring

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Internship, academic, or project experience in software development.

Basic proficiency in C++ or strong foundational programming skills with willingness to work in C++.

Foundational understanding of object-oriented programming and data structures.

Strong curiosity, learning mindset, and willingness to take ownership.

Nice to Have

Basic understanding of cloud concepts or experience with AWS.

Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.

Experience using AI-assisted coding tools to learn faster or improve productivity.
