Position Overview

This role sits at the core of the company's engineering team, building and maintaining features across both backend and frontend layers of a cloud-native SaaS platform used by thousands of dental practices across North America. You will own full-stack work end-to-end — writing clean, tested code in Python/Django on the backend and React.js/TypeScript on the frontend — while growing toward increasing design and delivery ownership. Senior engineers and a structured mentorship culture will support your ramp, while the pace and real-world impact keep the work meaningful.

Role & Responsibilities

• Build and maintain full-stack features spanning Python/Django backend services and React.js/TypeScript frontend interfaces.
• Design, build, and consume REST APIs with attention to reliability, performance, and clean contract design.
• Write unit and integration tests; participate in code reviews and act on feedback to uphold quality standards.
• Implement well-scoped features from defined requirements, contributing to design discussions and technical documentation.
• Monitor and troubleshoot issues across the stack in features you own; improve performance and reliability of existing systems.
• Apply AI-assisted development tools to improve personal productivity and code quality under team guidance.
• Collaborate closely with senior engineers, product, design, and QA to deliver features that meet user and business goals.

Must Have Criteria

• 2–5 years of software engineering experience building web or cloud applications.
• Hands-on experience with Python and Django or Django REST Framework for backend development.
• Proficiency in React.js and TypeScript for frontend feature development.
• Solid understanding of REST API design and consumption across the full request lifecycle.
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, including basic query writing and database fundamentals.
• Version control proficiency with Git (branching, PRs, code review workflows).
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Redis, FastAPI, Node.js, or Next.js.
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, or test automation frameworks.
• Experience with AWS services (S3, RDS, or managed databases).
• Exposure to ETL/data pipelines or platforms such as Databricks.
• Prior work on SaaS, multi-tenant, or healthcare/data-intensive applications; contributions to open-source or personal technical projects.
