Software Engineer Python/Django

We're hiring a Software Engineer with strong Python and Django skills for a product engineering team in Gurugram. The team wants engineers who write clean, efficient backend code and understand how it behaves in production.

What You Will Work On:

• Develop, maintain, and optimise backend services using Python and Django
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs powering consumer-facing and internal platforms
• Work with NumPy and Pandas for data processing and reporting pipelines
• Debug, profile, and improve performance of production systems
• Collaborate with product, data, and infrastructure teams on scalable architecture decisions
• Write clean, well-documented code and participate in structured code reviews
• Assist in the deployment and maintenance of server-side components

What We Are Looking For

• Must-have: 2–5 years of backend development experience with Python as the primary language
• Strong, production-level knowledge of Django — not just familiarity
• Solid understanding of REST API design, authentication, and database interactions
• Experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL in production
• Comfortable with Git and agile team workflows

Strong differentiator (not a dealbreaker, but will move you to the top):

• Hands-on experience with microservices in production — inter-service communication (REST, gRPC, Kafka/RabbitMQ), data consistency across services
• Immediately available or serving a notice period of 15 days or less

Good to have:

• Experience with NumPy and Pandas in a real data context
• Backend performance profiling and query optimisation
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerisation (Docker / Kubernetes)
