We are looking for a Software Engineer I (Backend) who is passionate about building scalable backend services and solving real-world engineering problems. This role offers an opportunity to work on high-impact products, learn from experienced engineers, and contribute to systems used by millions of learners.

What You'll Do:

• Develop, test, and maintain backend services using Python and Node.js.
• Build and enhance APIs and backend services powering core product experiences.
• Collaborate with Product, Frontend, and QA teams to deliver reliable solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot issues, debug applications, and support production systems.
• Contribute to performance optimization and backend scalability initiatives.
• Participate in code reviews and engineering discussions.
• Learn and contribute to cloud-based and distributed backend systems.

What We're Looking For:

• 1-2 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of Python and Node.js.
• Good understanding of backend development fundamentals and API design.
• Familiarity with software development best practices, debugging, and testing.
• Understanding of basic system design concepts and scalable application development.
• Exposure to AWS or GCP is a plus.
• Exposure to microservices, distributed systems, or event-driven architectures is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
