About the Opportunity

We are seeking experienced Open-Source Software Engineers to contribute to an AI training project focused on software development, repository exploration, debugging, system architecture, and code evaluation.

The role involves working with real-world software repositories, solving complex engineering tasks, reviewing AI-generated code, and contributing practical software-engineering expertise to improve AI systems.

Responsibilities

Explore and understand unfamiliar software repositories.
Develop, modify, debug, and test front-end and back-end components.
Trace data and execution across APIs, services, libraries, databases, and dependencies.
Reproduce issues and identify root causes.
Implement solutions aligned with existing architecture and coding standards.
Write unit, integration, regression, and end-to-end tests.
Review AI-generated code for correctness, security, completeness, and maintainability.
Translate software implementations between programming languages when required.

Required Qualifications

Public or verifiable GitHub profile with meaningful open-source contributions.
Strong professional software-engineering experience.
Experience working with multiple programming languages.
Ability to understand, modify, and debug unfamiliar codebases.
Demonstrated contributions through substantial repositories, pull requests, issues, or personally authored code.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency in Python, Java, Rust, C++, TypeScript, Go, JavaScript, C#, Ruby, or PHP.
Experience maintaining or contributing to established open-source projects.
Background in software architecture, code review, debugging, or AI-generated code evaluation.

Compensation & Engagement

Compensation: $100–$150/hour
Engagement Type: Contractor
Work Arrangement: Fully remote
Location: Global
Expected Commitment: Approximately 15 hours/week
Schedule: Flexible
Compensation Model: Output-based, with minimum weekly submission requirements
