About Team:
Everybody has data but at Walmart, the sheer volume of data can be massive. The IoT Platform team under the Physical AI org helps in connecting, managing & creating value out of hundreds of thousands of smart devices across Stores, Distribution centres and SAMs clubs sending huge volumes of data & billions of messages every day. This team uses cutting edge technologies as well as niche IoT knowledge to connect, communicate and manage devices at scale and use its data to create value for Walmart.
We are looking for a passionate Software Engineer to join the IoT Platform team at Walmart Global Tech. As a Software Engineer in the team, you will have the opportunity to work on large scale projects to make a lasting impact on the how Walmart uses its devices and data to make people save more and live better. What you'll do:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance applications using .NET framework, C#, and front-end frameworks that can work @ Walmart scale
Design and implement cloud-based solutions using Azure and/or GCP
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
Developing scalable API driven systems with diverse data models
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code with Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
Work with version control systems (e.g., Git) and manage deployment processes.
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance our development processes.(e.g. AI)
You will collaborate with a geographically distributed team.
Be responsible for on-call support on a need basis.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
What you'll bring:
Bachelor's/Master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of professional experience in software development.
Strong proficiency in .NET framework & containerisation technologies (docker & kubernetes)
Extensive experience with Azure cloud services and architecture
Familiarity with cloud design patterns and best practices along with Message processing systems (eg: Kafka)
Experience with web technologies (React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and web services (REST, SOAP)
Knowledge of database systems (SQL Server, CosmosDB) and ability to work with large datasets
Functional knowledge of observability systems and patterns.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Self-starter with a high ownership and commitment
Comfortable working with architects to develop scalable solutions
Stimulated by challenges and ready to engage at Fortune 1 scale
Nice to have: Good understanding of IOT landscape, adeptness across multiple languages (C#, Python, Js, Java etc), Mobile app development using React Native, Experience creating AI based solutions
