As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting to build high-quality regulatory report automation solution with emphasis on efficiency, accuracy and data controls to meet local regulatory requirements.
- Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data, using insights to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
- Break down technical problems with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches.
- Create and support secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems, using SQL, Python etc.
- Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
- Experience in coding in Python and related frameworks e.g. PySpark, Spark SQL.
- Strong hands-on experience in SQL and Relational databases including ETL processes.
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with database querying language (SQL), ETL, reporting solutions.
Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Exposure to Apache Spark Framework, no SQL databases.
- Working knowledge of AWS services such as Glue, S3, and Terraform for infrastructure setup.
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and frameworks as required by project needs.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience working in the financial services industry and their IT systems.
- Familiarity with Databricks.
