We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join Socure's global engineering team and build scalable, reliable backend systems that power our identity verification and fraud prevention products.
What You'll Do
- Build and own backend services, REST APIs, and microservices from design through production.
- Develop scalable, secure, and maintainable application-layer systems.
- Work on distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, messaging, retries, and fault tolerance.
- Partner with Product, Infrastructure, Data Science/ML, and Engineering teams.
- Improve performance, reliability, observability, and engineering standards.
- Participate in technical design, code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and production troubleshooting.
What We're Looking For
- 2–4 years of backend software engineering experience.
- Strong coding skills in Go, Java, or a similar backend language.
- Solid computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- Experience with REST APIs, microservices, SQL/NoSQL databases, and event-driven systems.
- Familiarity with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka/SQS/RabbitMQ, and CI/CD.
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to take features/services end-to-end.
- Good communication skills and ability to explain technical decisions and trade-offs clearly.
