Role Overview

The MDES team is seeking a Software Engineer (Quality Engineering) to support testing activities for its microservices-based platform. The ideal candidate should have a strong passion for delivering high-quality products through robust test automation and quality engineering practices within a highly scalable, enterprise-grade payment application environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

Design, develop, automate, and maintain Integration and End-to-End (E2E) test cases.
Prepare Test Strategies, Test Plans, and Test Estimates for projects and releases.
Track, communicate, and report testing progress, defects, and quality metrics.
Conduct peer reviews of automation scripts and maintain coding standards.
Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, TPMs, and DevOps teams.
Ensure compliance with organizational processes, security standards, and quality guidelines.
Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to quality initiatives.
Continuously enhance automation frameworks and testing standards.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

Strong experience in writing test scenarios, test cases, and executing testing activities.
Hands-on experience with Java-based automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cucumber, Karate, or equivalent.
Expertise in Core Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Rest Assured, SOAP Services, JSON, and XML.
Experience using API testing tools like Insomnia, SOAP UI, or similar.
Strong SQL and database testing experience, preferably with Oracle.
Experience testing microservices-based and distributed applications.
Exposure to AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, AI Agents, and Generative AI platforms.
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, SDLC, and STLC.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and quality engineering practices.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of application security concepts, including authentication, authorization, encryption, confidentiality, and secure communication protocols.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Passion for automation, innovation, continuous learning, and AI-enabled engineering.
Payment domain experience is an added advantage.
