A TM1 Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing IBM Planning Analytics (formerly TM1) solutions to support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and business acumen to create effective planning solutions. Need a candidate with hands-on skills
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop TM1 applications and models to meet business requirements
- Create and maintain Turbo Integrator (TI) processes for data integration and automation
- Develop complex TM1 rules and calculations to support business logic
- Optimize system performance and ensure data integrity across TM1 applications
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Design and implement data integration strategies between TM1 and source systems
- Create and maintain documentation for TM1 applications, models, and processes
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to TM1 applications
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
- Stay current with IBM Planning Analytics updates and best practices
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in TM1/IBM Planning Analytics development and architecture
- Strong understanding of TM1 architecture, including dimensions, cubes, and processes
- Proficiency in Turbo Integrator (TI) scripting and TM1 Rules
- Experience with MDX queries and advanced TM1 functions
- Knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
- Experience with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
- IBM Planning Analytics/TM1 certification
- Experience with IBM Cognos Analytics or other BI tools
- Experience with Alteryx
- Knowledge of SQL and database design principles
- Experience with PAX (Planning Analytics for Excel)
- Understanding of dimensional modeling and star schema design
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Project management experience
