Role:- Engineering Manager (Python and FastAPI)

Role overview
We are looking for an Engineering Manager who will take full ownership of the tech stack while leading and mentoring a team of engineers. The role involves working closely with the engineering leadership and the founder to drive technical decisions and product development. This position offers equity in the company along with a fast-tracked career growth trajectory. The ideal candidate should have an entrepreneurial mindset and a strong aspiration to build and scale products, with a long-term vision of starting their own venture.
Key Responsibilities
- Take end-to-end ownership of the tech stack and ensure scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, driving high-quality product development.
- Collaborate closely with leadership to define and execute technical strategy.
- Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Python and modern web frameworks.
- Oversee database architecture and optimization (PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB).
- Implement and manage message queues and streaming systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Celery).
- Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and deployment processes.
- Work on integrating AI/ML capabilities into products and systems.
Required Qualifications
- Location: Based in or willing to work from HSR Layout, Bangalore
- Education: Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience: 710 years of total work experience with a strong product-building background
- Startup Exposure: Experience as part of a founding or early-stage engineering team
- Technical Skills: 5+ years of hands-on experience in Python
- Strong experience with FastAPI or Flask
- Deep understanding of PostgreSQL, Redis, and MongoDB
- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Celery
- Solid DevOps knowledge including CI/CD, automation, and cloud deployments
- Practical exposure to AI/ML systems or integrations.
