Lead Software Engineer and Technical Lead for Electric Vehicle (EV)/Cloud products. The Anchor Engineer is responsible for setting up the technical direction and implementation strategy to deliver high quality features and products that support Ford Motor Company Connected Vehicle initiatives. The Anchor Engineer has a primary role in leading systems design, development, testing, and operations activities for a specific EV product. In conjunction with being the technical leader, the Anchor Engineer also works in the full technology stack. This position is responsible for the technical direction of products directly utilized by Ford's end-customers through the Mobile App, In-vehicle HMI (e.g. SYNC, ECG), Web. Additionally, the systems being developed will interface with 3rd parties like HERE, Genability, OVGIP, Garmin, and our internal algorithms produced by GDI&A, which will require a high technical understanding of Big Data principles.
Participate in white board sessions to gather customer requirements
Knowledge of Enterprise architecture and Cloud reference architecture concepts.
Lead the creation and implementation of IT solutions to meet business and infrastructure needs (based on functional/nonfunctional requirements).
Coordinate with application architects to validate solution designs with a focus on the reliability and stability of the product.
Participate in cross-team technical knowledge sharing forums (e.g. Anchor Engineer meetings, Jenkins Common Library, etc.).
Participate in integrated testing across the Enterprise Connectivity ecosystem to ensure end-to-end product quality.
Provide input on product estimation and planning and ability to manage changing priorities
Identify opportunities for adopting new technologies to solve existing needs and predicting future challenges
Passion for learning and willingness to work in a pair programming environment
Develop solutions with architects to ensure interoperability of interfacing external and internal systems and develop prototypes to validate.
Lead team members to achieve a shared understanding of the solution.
Interact with external and internal technical peers (Product Managers, Product Designers, Software Engineers, Architects, and vendors).
Expertise with cloud environments (PCF/Azure).
Focus on the security of the services and ensure proper tooling is in place to fix vulnerabilities and detect threats.
Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for creating solutions.
Experience with industry standard development environment, technologies, tools and techniques including Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery techniques.
Knowledge of agile principles, value, best practices, and tools. Practical experience in all systems life cycle phases.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills.
Ability and willingness to collaborate in the IT development community on teams of varying sizes to obtain a common goal
Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, or equivalent relevant discipline and a minimum of 6+ years of experience or an advanced technical degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience.
Tech stack - Java, Spring/SpringBoot, Microservices, Agile, CI/CD, Jenkins/any other pipeline tool, DevOps, Public Cloud (GCP/Azure/AWS), React, Angular, SQL, GitHub, JSON, Swagger/OpenAPI, Cucumber/Spock/Other test frameworks, TDD/BDD, SonarQube, Checkmarx/42Crunch, NoSQL DB (MongoDb/Cosmos/Cassandra etc.), Caching framework (Redis/Memcached).
Java Spring, Android, and/or iOS development experience depending on the team.
Knowledge of Enterprise architecture and Cloud reference architecture concepts.
Required Skills:
Cloud exposure (any public cloud, GCP will be an added advantage)
Experience helping troubleshoot application and performance issues
Experience in making applications resilient to failures - E.g. autoscaling/performance tuning etc.
Hands on experience in fundamental data modelling(RDBMS / No SQL)
Deployment/Release Execution and Planning, Instrumenting Zero Down Time deployments and Unattended deployments.
Experience with Test Driven Development, Behavior Driven Development, and Agile methodologies.
Experience with Software Development tools (Backlog Management, Source Code Management, Test Management, CI/CD).
In depth knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, standards and procedures for high quality software development
