Role overview:
Our Engineering team are the architects and builders behind Flagright. They design and develop the systems that power our platform, helping financial institutions detect and prevent financial crime at scale.
We're hiring a Software Engineer to design, build, and scale the core infrastructure behind our platform. This is a high-ownership role where you'll work closely with founders and customers to launch and iterate the product.
This is a high-ownership role in a fast-moving environment. You will solve complex engineering problems, make pragmatic decisions, and drive changes that increase the productivity of customers working on frontend applications and the efficiency and reliability of our API.

Key responsibilities:
- Solve complex engineering problems at a fast pace.
- Consistently and relentlessly deliver high-quality frontend & backend code against tight deadlines.
- Collaborate closely with the founding team to deliver robust and comprehensive interfaces to core compliance and anti-fraud financial primitives.
- Make pragmatic tradeoffs considering customer experience, business priorities and a sustainable technical baseline.
- Own and drive changes that increase the productivity of customers working on frontend applications and the efficiency and reliability of our API.
- Work with your teammates to own and innovate on the development experience.
- Collaborate closely with the founding team and designers to deliver a great experience for people using your team's products.
- Influence the direction of Flagright's platform, services, and engineering culture.
- Hide complexity from our users behind simple, yet powerful abstractions.
Who we are looking for:
- 6+ years of experience writing code, building and maintaining systems in high-scale production environments, and have driven one or more projects independently from design through implementation and maintenance is required.
- Interest in building software systems from scratch - we care much more about general engineering skills than knowledge of a particular language or framework.
- Pride in owning projects to successful completion involving a wide variety of technologies and systems.
- A high standard of themselves and the people they work with.
- Acute interest in taking ownership of technical design, implementation, and results.
- Strong and transparent communication skills.
