Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain applications on the AS400 / IBM i platform.
- Develop and enhance programs using RPG (RPGLE / ILE), CL, and COBOL technologies.
- Work with DB2/400 for database design, query development, and performance tuning.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Provide production support, including troubleshooting, bug fixing, and performance optimization.
- Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and application modernization initiatives.
- Collaborate with business users, analysts, and cross-functional technical teams to deliver solutions.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, documentation practices, and IBM i development best practices.
Skills Required:
- Strong hands-on experience in AS400 / IBM i application development and support.
- Proficiency in programming using RPG, RPG/400, and RPG ILE (RPGLE/ILE).
- Experience working with DB2/400 for database management, query optimization, and data handling.
- Knowledge of CL scripting and legacy modernization practices within IBM i environments.
- Familiarity with COBOL/400 development is an added advantage.
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues and provide stable long-term support.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle processes and documentation standards.
- Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with business and technical stakeholders.
Education:B.E. / B.Tech in Computer Science or a related field is required.
