Job Description

At a Glance

At ABN AMRO Clearing we aspire to lead the way to safe and transparent markets. In banking, Clearing denotes all activities from the time a commitment (buy or sell) is made for a transaction until it is settled. Clearing acts as an intermediary between clients and the exchanges they trade on. We become the buyer to the seller and the seller to the buyer, taking over the risk to reconcile orders between the parties in the transaction. We do so for professional traders, investment managers and corporates. We understand them and strive to deliver reliable, high-quality service across the globe. Working at ABN AMRO Clearing means thriving in an international, professional yet informal, fast-paced environment.

Your Job

As a Software Engineer for our Settlement and Custody software development team, you will work on applications that help in settlements and custody related tasks. You establish vision and technical direction for major initiatives and build high quality and architecturally sound systems for global usage. You're not attached to tools and technologies, but you focus on solving problems. You work towards sprint goals while questioning every assumption, involving fellow engineers, business partners and analysts. This also means hands-on programming, testing and putting the new solutions into production. You bring clarity to complexity and demonstrate smart ways to simplify our ecosystem. Together with your team you deliver value to the business partners, aiming for stakeholder satisfaction.

Your Working Environment

You'll work in an agile setting alongside a culturally diverse group of individuals, based in APAC, Amsterdam and Chicago. You will be joining one of our APAC offices where hybrid working environments are supported. Additionally, you need to support Singapore business and after-business hours for end-of-day activities. Our systems play an essential role in everything we do in the clearing and risk management domain. That is why our application development teams collaborate closely to explore ideas and set the new direction. Together we build and maintain an outstanding suite of reliable, high performing systems and applications.
