We are establishing ADB SAFEGATE LABS in Hyderabad, our newest extension of global engineering capabilities. The Labs focus on building and evolving digital platforms, data-driven services, and AI-enabled solutions that support airport operations across Airfield, Apron, Tower, and Weather domains.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Be our founding Airfield engineering leader in Hyderabad.
We're seeking a highly technical Senior Full Stack Engineer with strong leadership skills to establish and lead our Airfield development team from the ground up.
Airfield solutions manage the critical infrastructure that keeps aircraft moving safely on the groundrunway and taxiway lighting systems, visual guidance, airfield ground lighting (AGL) control, monitoring systems, and intelligent automation that ensures safe operations in all weather conditions, day and night.
As our founding Airfield team lead at this location, you'll:
- Build and lead a high-performing team (6-8 developers and testers)
- Shape engineering culture, practices, and delivery standards
- Work hands-on with modern tech stack (Angular, .NET/Node.js, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure)
- Drive agile practices in coordination with our Business line R&D in Europe and the US
- Bridge cultures and time zones between Hyderabad and global teams
- Deliver solutions used by major airports globally

What You'll Do
Technical Leadership & Team Building
- Serve as local technical lead for the Airfield development team, mentoring engineers and testers
- Establish pragmatic engineering standards and quality gates
- Foster collaborative, agile culturefacilitate scrum ceremonies and drive continuous improvement
- Onboard and grow new team members; shape working culture from day one
- Build a culture of innovation, quality, and ownership
Cross-Cultural & Global Collaboration
- Act as the bridge between Hyderabad team and global teams in Europe and the US
- Ensure smooth communication and alignment across time zones
- Collaborate closely with product owners and stakeholders to clarify requirements and align priorities
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and documentation between distributed teams
- Navigate cultural differences and build strong working relationships globally
Full Stack Development
- Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Angular (frontend) and .NET/Node.js (backend)
- Build features for Airfield management and control systems: lighting control, monitoring, automation workflows
- Ensure code quality through reviews, automated testing, and adherence to best practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across the full stack
- Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code
DevOps & CI/CD
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps (automated build, test, deployment)
- Champion containerization best practices using Docker
- Manage Kubernetes orchestration on Azure Cloud for production deployments
- Integrate code quality checks, security scanning, and traceability into delivery pipeline
- Enable fast, reliable releases with minimal manual intervention
Project & Delivery Management
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and ensure adherence to quality standards
- Oversee sprint planning, estimation, and resource allocation
- Track team velocity and proactively address blockers
- Ensure on-time delivery of commitments to global stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement of processes and team productivity
Quality & Collaboration
- Drive code review culture and maintain high standards for code hygiene and test coverage
- Promote transparency, shared ownership, and focus on delivery outcomes
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and documentation within the team
- Contribute to architecture decisions and technical roadmap
- Ensure solutions meet aviation industry standards and safety requirements
We're Looking For Someone With
- 5+ years as a full stack software engineer with deep hands-on experience in Angular and .NET or Node.js
- 3+ year in technical leadership in team settings (mentoring, process facilitation, driving standards)
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and team enablement practices
- Strong knowledge of Docker containerization and Kubernetes orchestration in production environments
- Solid experience with Azure Cloud services and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
- Proficiency in RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and database design (SQL/NoSQL)
- Understanding of web application security, performance optimization, and scalability
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work effectively in small, high-impact teams
- Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and can build structure
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a team lead or tech lead in product companies
- Experience launching or scaling new teams or engineering offices
- Background in aviation, transportation, or mission-critical systems
- Working knowledge of automated testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, Selenium)
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code practices (Terraform, ARM templates)
- Familiarity with application monitoring and observability tools (Application Insights, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Experience with message queues (RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus) or event-driven architectures
- Contributions to open-source projects or active tech community participation
Education
- B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or related field
- M.Tech/MS is a plus
- Equivalent experience with strong technical foundation considered
