Join WWGS Inbound Tech team as a Software Development Manager and lead one of the most critical technology teams powering Amazon's grocery ecosystem. As part of the UTRT (Under the Roof Technology) organization, you'll own the suite of tools and services foundational to inbound operations across 1,500+ QC sites, 100+ GFCs and 500 WFM stores spanning multiple regions (IN, MENA, NA & EU).

As the SDM for Inbound Tech, you'll lead a high-performing team of SDEs managing 20+ pipelines and owning all inbounding receive tools across WWGS UTR Tech. Your team is the first touch point for inbounding across all store families, making your services & tools extremely critical in the lifecycle of inventory management and online salability. Your team processes inventory at massive scale - 814 million items (Stow + Stock) in the last 10 months alone - and directly impacts key business metrics including Imperfect Order Rate, Item Not Found (INF), in-stock rate, and shrink.

Key job responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Deep understanding of distributed systems, inventory management, and retail operations at scale.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to balance competing priorities across multiple businesses (WFM, GFC, QC) with varying inventory models
- Stakeholder Management: Experience influencing leaders across multiple organizations to align on technical strategy
- Operational Excellence: Track record of maintaining high-availability services while driving continuous improvement
- Innovation Mindset: Passion for leveraging GenAI and automation to transform associate experience and operational efficiency

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
