We bring this vision to life by building and enabling consistent, convenient, snappy online grocery shopping experiences that make it easy for customers to find and get their groceries how and where they want to.

We are seeking a Software Development Manager to join our team. As a member of the team, you will be involved in every aspect of the software development lifecycle, from collaborating with customers and various stakeholders to devise scalable and adaptable designs, to implementing these designs in a manner that ensures scalability and maintainability. You will collaborate with global external teams, senior software development engineers, and principal engineers to tackle challenging business and design issues. Successful candidates exhibit a passion for translating broad, ambiguous business objectives into robust software platforms that empower diverse businesses. They demonstrate a proactive approach, consistently delivering solutions on time and possessing a strong team spirit. With a focus on efficiency, scalability, and customer-centric solutions, the Grocery Ordering team plays a strategic role in shaping the future of Amazon's global grocery business.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of engineering experience
  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
