Your Role And Responsibilities
As a Software Development Manager for IBM Z, you will design, develop, test, and deliver offerings using the latest technologies, while aligning employees work with IBM's strategy and goals. You will lead or participate in organization planning, providing leadership and support to ensure business objectives are met.
Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include
- Lead Offering Development: Design, develop, test, and deliver offerings for IBM Z using the latest technologies, ensuring alignment with IBM's strategic direction and goals.
- Team Management: Assign individuals, collaborate with other leaders to allocate employee resources, and provide feedback to improve performance, while fostering teamwork and inclusion across organizations.
- Business Results: Accept accountability for business results, including meeting client satisfaction, productivity, financial, and other business measurements, and recognize contributions by employees and teams.
- Talent Development: Advise and coach employees to help them develop their skills and capabilities, and execute processes for the normal operation of employee programs.
- Problem Resolution: Analyze and interpret new situations, and resolve complex problems independently or through the management of others.
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Technology Leadership: Experience with designing, developing, testing, and delivering software offerings using the latest technologies, with a focus on IBM Z.
- Resource Allocation: Experience in allocating employee resources and assigning individuals to meet project/account and individual development needs.
- Performance Management: Experience with establishing clear performance expectations, providing feedback, and holding people accountable for results.
- Business Operations: Experience in analyzing and interpreting business measurements, including client satisfaction, productivity, and financial results.
- Problem-Solving: Experience with resolving complex problems independently or through the management of others, with a focus on removing obstacles to implementation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with cross-functional teams and contributing to IBM's success is desirable. Understanding of how to foster teamwork and inclusion across organizations, cultures, and geographies is preferred.
Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
- Technology Expertise: Knowledge of IBM Z technologies and software development methodologies is preferred.
- Business Acumen: Understanding of how to analyze and interpret business data to inform decision-making is preferred.
