Role
Role Overview
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer II (Backend) with 4–6 years of experience in backend development. The ideal candidate should have solid expertise in Java-based technologies, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms, with a strong focus on building scalable and high-performance systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot
- Build and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices
- Work with relational databases and caching systems for high-performance applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Ensure code quality through best practices, code reviews, and testing
- Troubleshoot production issues and ensure system reliability and performance
- Work in a Linux-based environment and handle deployments using Docker
- Maintain version control and follow CI/CD best practices
Technical Skills (Must Have)
- Strong proficiency in Java 17, J2SE
- Experience with Spring Boot, JPA (Hibernate)
- Strong understanding of REST API design and development
- Hands-on experience with MySQL and SQL optimization
- Experience with Redis (caching, performance tuning)
- Good understanding of Linux environments
- Experience with Docker and containerization
- Proficiency in Git (version control)
Cloud Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) – mandatory
- Experience with AWS – good to have
Good to Have
- Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture
- Knowledge of system design and scalability patterns
- Exposure to monitoring and logging tools
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
