Role Overview:
An SDE-2 is responsible for independently delivering end-to-end features across frontend and backend layers. The role requires strong execution discipline, module-level ownership, and active participation in technical discussions across the stack.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently deliver end-to-end features within sprint timelines.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and corresponding frontend integrations.
- Build responsive, maintainable UI components and scalable backend services.
- Write clean, modular, and testable code across frontend and backend with high unit test coverage.
- Ensure delivered code meets defined defect and quality standards.
- Own specific modules or services across the stack, including documentation and maintainability.
- Review merge requests with structured, actionable feedback.
- Participate actively in architectural and design discussions.
- Identify and resolve technical debt within owned components.
- Debug and resolve production issues across UI, API, and data layers within agreed timelines.
- Mentor junior engineers through regular technical guidance sessions.
- Communicate technical designs, implementation details, and challenges clearly within the team and to cross-functional stakeholders.
Technical Requirements:
- 3–6 years of software development experience with exposure to both frontend and backend systems.
- Strong proficiency in Java and experience with SpringBoot.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS with hands-on experience in React.js.
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and integrating them with frontend applications.
- Working experience with RDBMS (Oracle/PostgreSQL), and familiarity with Kafka and NoSQL databases (e.g., AeroSpike).
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design and component-based frontend architecture.
- Experience with Git-based workflows and structured code reviews.
- Strong debugging skills across UI, API, and database layers.
- Ability to write and maintain good unit test coverage for code contributions.
