Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a member of the SAP Development team, you will design, develop, and support scalable SAP solutions using modern ABAP technologies. You will play a key role in building API-driven integrations, RAP-based applications, and SAP S/4HANA extensions while adhering to clean core development principles and SAP best practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and maintain custom ABAP programs, enhancements, and extensions for SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC systems.
- Develop and expose SAP APIs using OData V2 and OData V4 services.
- Create and maintain managed and unmanaged RAP business objects, behavior definitions, and behavior implementations.
- Develop Core Data Services (CDS) Views with appropriate annotations for analytical, transactional, and OData-based applications.
- Collaborate with functional teams, architects, and integration teams to design API-led integration solutions.
- Support SAP Fiori and UI5 applications through efficient backend service development.
- Contribute to SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) extension and integration initiatives, including side-by-side extensibility and SAP Integration Suite scenarios.
- Perform code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Participate in technical design discussions, solution architecture reviews, and development documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to custom developments, APIs, integrations, and OData services.
- Ensure compliance with SAP development standards, clean core methodology, and enterprise security requirements.
- Support Agile development practices and participate in sprint planning, estimation, and delivery activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6-8 years of SAP ABAP development experience.
- Strong experience in Object-Oriented ABAP, Enhancement Framework, BAdIs, User Exits, and custom development.
- Hands-on experience developing and exposing OData services using SAP Gateway and RAP.
- Strong working knowledge of RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP), including:
- Behavior Definitions
- Behavior Implementations
- Projection Views
- Draft Handling
- RAP-based Fiori Elements Applications
- Proficiency in developing CDS Views with annotations for UI, analytics, and OData exposure.
- Experience with SAP Gateway, REST APIs, SOAP services, IDocs, RFCs, and Web Services.
- Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture and extensibility frameworks.
- Experience troubleshooting and optimizing ABAP applications for performance and scalability.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
- Exposure to SAP BTP ABAP Environment (Steampunk).
- Knowledge of SAP Integration Suite and API Management.
- Familiarity with Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP).
- Experience using Git-based source control and ADT (ABAP Development Tools in Eclipse).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Knowledge of SAP Fiori/UI5 application development.
