As a Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing the ideal backend system architecture, addressing customer pain points, and contributing to the overall success of our platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Architecture: Develop an ideal system architecture to solve problems efficiently. Create strategic plans to achieve the long-term vision while delivering shorter-term solutions that provide immediate value to our customers
- Customer Interaction: Engage with customers to understand their pain points. Collaborate on brainstorming sessions to devise innovative solutions that enhance the customer experience
- Critical Thinking: Apply critical thinking to problem-solving, starting from the ground up. Challenge existing solutions and propose novel approaches free from bias
What We're Seeking:
- 3+ years of relevant full-time professional experience building full-stack systems
- Strong experience with React.js, ReactQuery and state management (Zustand or equivalent)
- Experience building backend services using Python fastAPI
- Solid understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL
- Strong grasp of web fundamentals (HTTP, REST APIs, browser behavior, performance)
- Ability to independently own tasks and drive them to completion
- Strong problem-solving skills with a first-principles mindset
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Familiarity with DBT, analytics pipelines, or data-heavy systems
- Exposure to AI/ML-driven products or data platforms
- Experience working in early-stage startups or fast-paced environments
- Knowledge of frontend performance optimization and accessibility best practices
