Software Developer – Valuation Systems & Technology

Position Overview:

• The Software Developer in Valuation Systems and Technology will be a key contributor to a team developing innovative tools and systems used directly by financial professionals to serve our clients. We are looking for an adaptable developer with 2-4 years of experience who brings curiosity and professionalism to the table, along with the agility of mind to continuously learn new technologies and techniques.

A Typical Day Might Include:

• Application Development: Writing clean, maintainable client-side or server-side code for key business tools.
• Rapid Prototyping & Iteration: Building and testing prototypes within an agile framework to deliver functional features quickly.
• Problem Solving & Support: Investigating issues, squashing bugs, and supporting data integrations with internal tools, external APIs, and third-party data/technology vendors.
• Collaboration & Learning: Partnering with teammates, financial domain experts, and end-users to understand requirements and turn them into practical code.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required:

• Experience: 2–4 years of software development experience.
• Education: Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, or Math.
• OOP Fundamentals: Comfortable with the core principles of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and software design.
• Core Languages: Programming experience in C# (.NET) or Java.
• Systems & Web Basics: A decent understanding of system architectures (client-server, stateless applications), HTTP, and JSON.
• Databases: Sound working knowledge of database concepts and relational technologies (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server).
• Version Control: Familiarity with code versioning tools like Git.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have:

• Computer Science Foundations: A solid grounding in core data structures and algorithms is highly preferable.
• Cloud Exposure: Familiarity with or interest in cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
• API Development: Experience creating or integrating Web APIs.
