Job Responsibilities
This role is responsible for designing, developing, and testing code to enhance and expand company solutions supporting new API and data product offerings. Responsibilities include building new products, tooling support, and automated testing.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with functional programming languages such as Elixir - Systems running on the latest Ruby, Rails, and Elixir
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
- Full-stack web development experience, including building complete data-backed products
- Full MVC (model-view-controller) development experience
- Experience using Git productively in a team environment
- Experience with Docker
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Ability to work with business and technical SMEs to understand needs and propose technical solutions
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Experience adapting to new technologies
- Collaborative mindset when working with project managers and stakeholders
- Experience across the full development lifecycle: analysis, implementation, integration, testing, debugging, and support
- Willingness to assume leadership responsibilities for products, design patterns, test coverage, or other areas of focus
- Experience with TDD (test-driven development) or strong commitment to full test coverage using modern testing methods
- Strong teamwork, communication, and empathy for users, teammates, and stakeholders
- Continuous improvement mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Kafka
- Strong SQL skills (MySQL or PostgreSQL)
- Experience with non-relational databases and their role in web architectures
