About the Role

We're hiring a Backend Software Developer to join our growing engineering team working on the Saas project. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building backend systems end to end and wants to work on meaningful, real-world enterprise software.

This role is ideal for an engineer who is comfortable owning backend features from data model to deployed endpoint, and who has strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, batch processing, and backend security.

What You'll Work On

Build and maintain core backend services and REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot

Design and enhance backend architecture for a multi-tenant enterprise platform

Develop and manage batch jobs, scheduled processing, and workflow automation using Spring Batch

Implement secure authentication and authorization using Spring Security, including JWT, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and role-based access control

Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, indexes, constraints, and transactions

Manage database schema evolution and migrations using tools such as Flyway

Build async processing systems, background workers, and durable job handling patterns

Work with Redis for caching, queuing, and backend processing support

Develop approval workflow systems that support complex organizational structures and spending policies

Integrate with third-party platforms such as ERP systems, procurement tools, and SSO providers like Google Workspace and Microsoft Entra

Ensure proper tenant isolation, secure data scoping, and reliable backend performance across the platform

Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, QA, and stakeholders to deliver complete product features

Troubleshoot production issues, improve reliability, and contribute to overall backend best practices

Required Skills and Experience

1-3+ years of backend development experience

At least 2+ years of hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot

Strong experience with Spring Boot for API and service development

Experience with Spring Batch for scheduled jobs, data processing, and backend workflow execution

Experience with Spring Security for secure backend systems, authentication, and authorization

Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, indexing, constraints, and transaction handling

Solid understanding of REST API design and backend architecture

Experience building asynchronous systems such as queues, workers, retries, and idempotent job processing

Experience integrating third-party APIs and handling failures, rate limits, and data mapping

Familiarity with Git and modern development workflows

Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills

Ability to take ownership of a feature from design through implementation and deployment

Security-minded approach to backend development, especially around tenant isolation and access control

Nice to Have

Experience working on enterprise B2B SaaS platforms

Experience with procurement, ERP, or workflow-driven systems

Experience implementing or migrating SSO, OIDC, and directory sync integrations with Google or Microsoft environments

Experience migrating backend systems from platforms such as Firebase or Supabase to self-managed architecture

Familiarity with BigCommerce or headless commerce architectures

Experience with microservices, cloud deployments, and CI/CD pipelines
