Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure Container Instance team provides Infrastructure-as-a-Service technologies that operate at a large scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. OCI Container Instances provides a serverless compute service that enables customers to instantly run containers without managing any servers. Container Instances runs containerized workloads that do not require container orchestration platform like Kubernetes.
We're looking for hands-on engineers with expertise and passion for solving complex problems in distributed systems, virtualized infrastructure, and highly available services. If this is you, you can be part of the team that will build the best-in-class service. These are exciting times for the service - we are growing fast, and delivering on innovative, enterprise-class features to satisfy the most demanding applications for our customers. An engineer at any level can have a significant technical and business impact.
The Forklift team's charter is to offer a managed fleet management solution to internal OCI sevices that assists teams in running hypervisor-style workloads. Forklift provides large fleets of auto-scaling compute capacity with individual workloads packed across them separated by either a VM or container boundary.
The service work scope encompasses good integration with OCI's native infrastructure (security, cloud, storage, etc.) and deep integration with other relevant cloud-native services in OCI (like Oracle identities, logging and monitoring, etc.). It includes doing cloud-native ways of doing service level patching & upgrades and maintaining high availability of the service in the face of random failures & planned downtimes in the underlying infrastructure (e.g., for things like patching the Linux kernels to take care of a security vulnerability).
We are interested in senior engineers with expertise and passion for solving difficult problems in distributed systems and highly available services. At Oracle, you can help, shape, design, and build innovative new systems from the ground up. These are exciting times in our space - we are growing fast, still at an early stage, and working on ambitious new initiatives. Engineers at any level can have significant technical and business impact.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of the technical team, which is going to design, architect, and build best-in-class software architecture. As a senior member of the team, you will participate in the entire software development lifecycle. You will own and deliver the software design and development for major components and features of the service. You should be both a rock-solid coder and a troubleshooter. You should value simplicity, quality, and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.
