Software Developer 3

Core Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for commercial or end-user applications.
• Write code, complete programming, and perform testing and debugging of applications.
• Perform high-level design based on provided external specifications.
• Specify, design, and implement minor changes to existing software architecture.
• Build highly complex enhancements and resolve complex bugs.
• Build and execute unit tests and unit plans.
• Review integration and regression test plans created by QA.
• Communicate with QA and porting engineering as necessary to discuss minor changes to product functionality and to ensure quality and consistency across specific products.

Additional Responsibilities (Internal Business/Cloud Focus)

• Work with internal business on both functional and technical aspects of software implementation, utilizing the latest Oracle technology.
• Design, implement, and create solutions while monitoring user utilization to impact product direction.
• Be a member of a team responsible for designing and building custom application/tools for enhancing Oracle's Cloud Business.
• Collaborate with various global divisions to understand requirements.
• Interact with software engineering and security engineering teams to design, develop, deploy, and maintain custom applications that are robust, secure, and scalable.

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent discipline.
• 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
• Fully competent in own area of expertise.
• May have project lead role and/or supervise lower-level personnel.
• Solid analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail to help the team drive creative business solutions, and innovations that improve user experience, product design, performance, resiliency, scalability, and relevancy.
• Strong understanding of business, programming logic, standards, patterns, and algorithms.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Ability to customize and extend Fusion Applications, Oracle JET, and SQL would be a big plus.
• Experience in large-scale distributed cloud systems with understanding of the design principle of scalable cloud native Microservices.
• Preferred knowledge/experience: Java, UI stack, Elastic Search, Grafana, Docker, & Kubernetes.
