We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer with strong experience in Agile/Java software development, Java engineering, and telecom network management. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with NETCONF/YANG, cloud-native platforms, and Kubernetes, and a solid understanding of secure coding practices. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying scalable software solutions for modern telecom and network management systems.

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions in Java using microservices or cloud-native architecture.
  • Implement and optimise network management functionalities leveraging NETCONF, YANG models, and related protocols.
  • Work in an Agile/DevOps environment, contributing to sprint planning, continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and automated testing.
  • Develop, deploy, and manage applications in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP or private cloud) using Kubernetes and container orchestration best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA, DevOps, system architects, and network engineers.
  • Ensure application security, including secure coding, vulnerability mitigation, and compliance with security standards.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architectural decision-making.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across distributed, cloud-based systems with a focus on reliability and performance.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, API definitions, and operational guides

Key Skills And Experience

You Have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Minimum of 15 year of experience in Telecommunications, or related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Java and related frameworks (Spring Boot preferred).
  • Solid experience with Agile/DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with NETCONF, YANG, and telecom/network management systems.
  • Practical experience deploying and managing applications in Kubernetes and cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native tools (Docker, Helm, service mesh, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of software security principles, authentication/authorisation, and secure coding practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Experience with microservices architecture, distributed systems, or event-driven design.
  • Knowledge of telecom standards, network automation frameworks, or OSS/BSS systems.
  • Exposure to monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry).
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation tasks.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or experience with community YANG models.
