Software and ISV Ecosystem Lead

Responsibilities

• Define and own the operating system image strategy, including development and lifecycle management of master golden images and product-specific image variants.
• Lead integration of operating systems, device drivers, BIOS/UEFI, embedded controller (EC) firmware, and platform software to ensure seamless hardware-software interoperability.
• Act as the primary interface with Microsoft, silicon vendors, ISVs, and technology partners for software preload programs, validation activities, certifications, and platform readiness.
• Drive compatibility validation and certification activities for operating systems, drivers, firmware, and third-party applications across product variants.
• Establish firmware governance, software release management, version control, and update strategies to ensure platform stability and security.
• Define and manage system recovery, software deployment, patch management, and field update processes throughout the product lifecycle.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration between software, firmware, hardware, QA, manufacturing, and quality teams to support product launch schedules.
• Oversee system-level validation of operating systems, drivers, BIOS, firmware, and preloaded software to meet quality, performance, reliability, and security objectives.
• Ensure compliance with partner requirements, industry standards, and platform certification programs.
• Drive issue resolution, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement related to platform software, firmware, and ecosystem integrations.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, ECE, Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong expertise in operating system imaging, deployment, and platform integration within hardware product environments.
• Deep understanding of device driver integration, BIOS/UEFI architecture, embedded controller firmware, and system recovery mechanisms.
• Knowledge of hardware-software co-development, platform architecture, and software release management.
• Proficiency with OS deployment and imaging toolkits, firmware configuration utilities, and software distribution methodologies.
• Experience with version control systems, issue tracking platforms, and software lifecycle management processes.
• Understanding of hardware validation, manufacturing readiness, and product development processes within EMS or high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, leadership, and cross-functional coordination skills.

Desired Experience Level

• 10+ years of experience in platform software integration, operating systems, firmware engineering, product engineering, or ecosystem management.
• Proven experience managing OS imaging, driver integration, BIOS/UEFI configuration, firmware releases, and software preload programs for hardware products.
• Demonstrated experience working with Microsoft, silicon vendors, ISVs, ODMs, or technology ecosystem partners.
• Experience supporting product development, NPI, validation, and manufacturing deployment within EMS or high-volume hardware manufacturing environments.
• Strong track record of managing cross-functional and global stakeholder engagements across engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers.
• Experience driving platform certifications, compatibility validation, security updates, and software quality initiatives across multiple product lines.
• Willingness to travel to customer, supplier, and partner locations as required for integration, validation, and certification activities.
