Job Description
About Rimigo
Rimigo is the travel company on the traveller's side. Most travel platforms push whatever pays them the best commission. We do the opposite: we give people clear, honest opinions so they can make travel decisions they'll never regret. We take a point of view, not a long list of options. YouTube is where that point of view gets a face and a voice.
The Role
You'll own Rimigo's YouTube channel: what we make, why we make it, and how it grows. You'll appear on camera as we build the channel's voice. You'll work with a dedicated video editor to turn research into long-form videos and short destination videos that help travellers decide.
What You'll Do
- Own the YouTube channel strategy, content calendar, and growth metrics
- Be on camera for long-form videos, Shorts, and explainers. We'll build presence together; you need to be willing, not a seasoned presenter
- Research destinations properly and turn that research into clear recommendations (e.g. Vietnam: north or south first, 5 days in Bali — where to actually stay)
- Script videos that take a stand: strong hooks, tight structure, a clear verdict
- Produce our destination decision videos (places, routes, common traveller questions), which we also reuse on Instagram and on our destination pages
- Brief and work with our video editor on pacing, b-roll, and retention
- Own titles, thumbnails, and packaging, and keep testing them
- Read YouTube Analytics (CTR, retention, returning viewers) and use it to decide what to make next
What We're Looking For
- Proven channel growth: You've grown a YouTube channel before, your own or a brand's. You can show where it started, what it reached, and what you changed to get there.
- Open to being on camera: You're willing to be on screen regularly and get better at it. Polish can come with time.
- Thumbnail and packaging sense: You know what makes a thumbnail and title get clicked. You can explain why one beats another, and you test and iterate on them.
- Research to opinion: You can go deep on a destination and come out with a clear answer, not a list.
- Scriptwriting and storytelling: You write hooks, outlines, and full scripts that keep viewers watching.
- Data comfort: You use retention graphs and CTR to decide the next video.
- Travel curiosity: You've planned your own trips and have opinions about how travel content gets it wrong.
Good to Have
- Hands-on editing: You can edit yourself in Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, or CapCut, and you're quick with rough cuts and Shorts.
- Thumbnail design: You can design thumbnails yourself in Photoshop, Figma, or Canva, not just brief them.
- Experience with travel, explainer, or review-style content
