Lumen is looking for a Social Media Marketing Intern to help us build distribution, visibility, and brand presence in the AI discovery era. This role is for someone who already understands how social platforms work because they've won attention themselves.
If you've grown an audience, understand what travels on the internet, and want to apply that skill to a fast-growing AI startup, this role is for you.
Minimum Requirement (non-negotiable)
- At least 5,000 followers on any one social media platform (X, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, etc.)
- You should be able to clearly explain how you grew that audience.

What you'll work on
- Creating and publishing high-signal social content (primarily LinkedIn, X and Reddit).
- Turning product insights, experiments, and results into clear, shareable posts.
- Repurposing long-form content (blogs, case studies, threads) into social formats.
- Tracking performance (impressions, engagement, followers) and iterating fast.
- Experimenting with hooks, formats, narratives, and distribution strategies.
- Helping shape Lumen's public voice in the AEO / AI discovery space.
What we're looking for
- Proven ability to grow and engage an audience (5k+ followers required).
- Strong writing instincts and understanding of what makes content shareable.
- Comfortable using tools like Notion, Google Docs, and AI tools (ChatGPT, Perplexity).
- Bias toward action: you test, post, learn, and improve quickly.
- Interest in startups, AI, marketing, or internet-native growth.
Internship Details
- Duration: 3 months (extension possible based on performance)
- Commitment: Part-time (1520 hours/week)
- Start Date: Within the next week
- Location: Fully remote
Compensation
- 10,000 / month
- ChatGPT Plus subscription
- Performance-based increase for exceptional results
